A tale of growing up, accepting change and the power of dreams…

Crochet Zodiac Dolls

Crochet Zodiac Dolls includes amigurumi patterns for 12-different crochet dolls. Each doll is modelled after a Zodiac Sign.

Along with the crochet patterns, some fun astrological information has been included. The Wheel of Life is provided on page 9. For those interested in astrology and horoscopes, a chart is included on page 7. The chart lists the depiction, element, ruling planet, best character trait, lucky color, lucky gemstone for each zodiac sign.

For example, my sign is Cancer (June 28) and my depiction is the crab, my element is water, my ruling planet is the moon, my best character trait is compassion, my lucky color is silver and my lucky gemstone is moonstone.

Page 10 explains the different elements, fire, earth, air and water and how your zodiac sign’s nature is influenced by the element. Each element is linked to 3 zodiac signs. For my example, Cancer is a water sign.

The Tools and Materials are listed on page 12. For these projects you will need a 2 mm (B) hook and 8/4-ply fingering weight 100% cotton yarn. The projects in the book were crocheted using 8/4 Rainbow Cotton yarn from Hobbii. The hair for Pisces was made with Lace Weight Mohair Yarn (Diablo from Hobbii). The toys pictured in Crochet Zodiac Dolls have 6 mm (1/4 inch) black safety eyes. Each doll is approximately 6 inches tall (15 cm).

The amigurumi patterns are clearly written and the instructions are in U.S. Crochet terms. Helpful images are included for every project. The stitch counts are included at the end of the pattern rounds, inside (parentheses).

The Patterns begin on page 18. Beginning on page 104 an interesting section showing the Compatibility of the Zodiac Dolls has been included. It shows each Zodiac Dolls Ideal best friend and Ideal Partner. For my example, the Cancer Zodiac Doll’s Ideal Best Friend is Taurus and Ideal Partner is Capricorn.

The About the Author, Acknowledgements, Suppliers and complete Index can be found at the conclusion of the book.

The Crochet Zodiac Dolls are adorable and I like that along with the pattern for the doll, you also receive a description of the Zodiac Sign and other fun astrological information. I especially like how the Cancer Zodiac Doll has little crab claw shaped hair (super cute!).

  1. I’m a Libra but I would definitely make the Aries doll first. I liked how you included the video ad for the book to get a great idea of the inside of the book. Thank you.

  2. All of these dolls are adorable. I would start with Aries since that is my sign.

  3. I think I would make Sagittarius because I have 3 grandsons and a husband who are all Sagittarius’. I’d make a Pisces too because that’s me.
