Hi Friends! Tonight you get the bonus scarf pattern, the Sweet and Simple Scarf Pattern, from me 🙂 I hope you like this quick and easy project. It uses 1 ball of yarn and you can make it with, or without the buttons. It can be made for men or women, depending on the yarn colors you choose and the flower is completely optional.

Red Heart Yarns sent me the yarn I used for this pattern. Furls sent me the hook used for this post. This post includes affiliate links. If you make a purchase after clicking on an affiliate link, I may receive a small commission for the referral at no additional expense to you.

Sweet and Simple Scarf Pattern Finishing Instructions:

The edging does not need to be exact. Try to work dc evenly around the outside of the scarf and 3 dc in each corner. Here is my suggested edging if you’d like it written out 🙂

Ch 3, working along the row ends on the side edge of the scarf, work 2 dc in each dc row end and 1 dc for every 2 sc row ends, to the corner stitch. Work 3 dc in the corner stitch, rotate your work to crochet along the foundation chain row. Work 1 dc in each st across to the corner stitch.  Work 3 dc in the corner stitch, rotate to work along the other side edge of the scarf and work 2 dc in each dc row end and 1 dc for every 2 sc row ends, to the corner stitch. Work 3 dc in the corner stitch and rotate your work to crochet along the last edge of the scarf. Work 1 dc in each stitch and 3 dc in the last corner. Finish off with an invisible join and weave in your ends.

Add Optional Buttons to Your Sweet and Simple Scarf

I placed these at the same width as the scarf to allow it to be buttoned neatly.

Optional Flower for the Sweet and Simple Scarf Pattern:

I attached my flower using the left over yarn end from the beginning of R1 below. If you plan on wearing this scarf buttoned the same way every time and like the flower you can secure it firmly. If you want to be able to remove it simply tie the beginning yarn end from R1 and the ending yarn end from R2, tie the flower in the corner instead – so you can remove it – or add it with a safety pin like a brooch.

Rep from * to ** 5 times. Sl st to the first sc of R1 to join. Finish off and weave in ends. [6 petals]
