Meet Christina
Question: Who are you? Tell me about yourself.
I am a wife, mother of two girls, homeschool mom, blogger, and crochet designer. I have been crocheting for 10 years, with amigurumi the focus for the last 4 years.
I shifted my focus from a handmade maker to designing crochet patterns that bring families together.
Question: How did you learn how to crochet? How long have you been crocheting?
My friend Maria Santos taught me how to crochet about 10 years ago. We would meet for lunch and sit at Panera for a few hours and crochet while my eldest daughter was in school. This is before we were blessed with our second daughter. You can read about my crochet journey by visiting my blog post. https://creativesnugglies.com/creative-snugglies-journey/
Question: Do you have any tips for new crocheters? Any guidance to make them successful at a new hobby?
I would love to tell new crocheters to be patient with themselves. I also love to tell them to never give up. You Tube is amazing at helping new crocheters through video. Most of patterns are perfect for beginner crocheters with lots of photo tutorials. Also, I would suggest always counting your stitches each round or row. And remember, you can crochet! You can always learn something new!
Question: What do you enjoy crocheting the most?
Amigurumi
Question: What else are you passionate about (other than crochet)?
I enjoy homeschooling my soon to be 9 year old daughter as well as teaching at our coop once a week during the school year. I love to read especially mysteries. I enjoy being a part of a local book club. I love all our church activities and living my faith out daily. I enjoying getting out and walking each day.
Question: What prompted you to start designing?
Towards the end of 2020, I realized I needed to pivot. I couldn’t do markets and sell my finished goods. I had always thought about designing especially the last few years. I took the dive in January 2021. I enjoy having the Advent/Christmas season with my girls and working from home. I love designing new patterns.
Question: How long have you been designing and where do you publish your patterns?
I have been designing for about a year and a half and I publish my designs on my blog, Ravelry, Etsy, Ribblr, and Lovecrafts.

Question: What drives you to create? Where do you find inspiration for your designs?
I find my inspiration in children.
Question: What do you enjoy designing the most?
Amigurumi
Question: What tips would you give to someone interested in designing and blogging?
It takes time and be patient.

Question: What goals have you set for yourself for the future?
I would love to be the designer people to come to for beginner/easy patterns. I want to continue providing excellent patterns in the future. I would like to grow my blog and my community as well as be able to contribute to our family income while staying home with our kids and homeschooling.
Question: Who are your favorite makers? How have they inspired you?
There are so many amazing makers out there. Snappy Tots is one because I love how creative her designs are. Kristine from Ambassador Crochet is another person who has inspired me. Helen at Sunflower Cottage Crochet is another one. Erin at Juniper and Oakes definitely inspires me as well.
Question: Do you have a favorite yarn you like to use when you are crocheting? What colors and fibers do you gravitate toward when choosing your yarn?
My favorite yarn to work with is I Love This Yarn made by Hobby Lobby. I am drawn to using variegated yarn a lot of times because I love how it changes color throughout. I tend though to use more solid colors when designing but I love to use the variegated when I can.
