Crochet Animal Blankets and Blocks includes 18 adorable animal afghan squares you can crochet for a variety of different projects, including blankets.

Some quick one-block project ideas include pillows, bags and wall hangings. Or combine multiple blocks to make different sizes of blankets and afghans.

Ira Rott used 100% premium acrylic worsted weight yarns (Medium Weight [4]) for the animal afghan squares. Some examples are Red Heart Super Saver, Bernat Super Value and Bernat Premium yarn.
Crochet Hook Size Used for the Animal Blocks
Ira Rott used a 5 mm (H) crochet hook for these projects. The gauge reached was 14 dc and 8.5 rows in a 4 inch square (10 cm square).
