Hi Margaret, I think there is an error in that last row but I think it is because there should be no final single crochet. The pattern should finish after the final repeat from * to **.
I’m at my daughter’s horse back riding lesson but will update the instructions once I’m home tonight.
If we reverse R10, we have:
Sc, (dc, ch 1, sc) repeated across. This gives us 36 sc, 35 dc, 35 ch1sp.
In R11 we are working 1 sc in each of those stitches across.
So 1 sc in the first sc, (1 sc in the dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in the sc) across.
I made an error in saying 1 sc in the last sc (since the repeat already included the final sc).
Does this make sense?
I apologize for the error!
Rhondda
Hello. I recently followed your free pattern: “Cozy and Quick Chunky Scarf Crochet Pattern” and had trouble with R11. The repeat pattern * – ** seems incorrect. Could you please compare the version I used to complete the scarf and the version in your pattern?
*1 sc in the next dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in the next sc** will not produce the correct no. of sc to complete the scarf. Below I have swapped around the (1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in the next sc) to
(1 sc in the next sc, 1 sc in the ch1sp) and that gives me the correct amount of sc for the final row.
It would be helpful if you could check this out for me and please get back with your findings. I have been crocheting for 60 years and just could not get that R11 to work for me. Many thanks, Margaret.
