Complete Children’s Cookbook

Complete Children’s Cookbook includes more than 150-delicious dishes children will want to make and eat!

This cookbook is more than just recipes for children to prepare – it is a learning tool which will teach them basic cooking and baking skills and how to work in the kitchen safely.  The recommended age range for this book is children from 7 to 10 years of age (with adult supervision).

The first section, Before you Begin, introduces:

  • Healthy eating (including kitchen hygiene and safety)
  • Tools and equipment (an image for each and every item used in the book)
  • Ways to cook (includes preparing ingredients)
  • Ways to bake
  • Cooking rules (includes how to follow the recipes in the book)

Next we have the recipes which have been organized into 9 different chapters:

  • Breakfast
  • Soups and Salads
  • Light Bites
  • Main Meals
  • Desserts
  • Cakes and Muffins
  • Cookies and Bars
  • Bread
  • Party Time

Some of the recipes included are:

  • French Toast
  • Rainbow Salad
  • Vegetable Lasagna
  • Tomato Soup
  • Apple Crumble
  • Mini Muffins
  • Blueberry and Sour Cream Cake
  • Pizza Squares

Complete Children’s Cookbook focuses on safety and has implemented a visual warning symbol to remind the young cook each time a step in the recipe could result in injury (i.e. hot pot/sharp items/using electrical equipment). Whenever there is a “Safety in the Kitchen” step the warning symbol (a red triangle with a white exclamation mark in the center) will be included, to remind them to be careful.

You can see the warning symbol used in all four images below:

Every recipe includes step-by-step photo examples of the actions the young cook will need to follow in order to create their dish.

The instructions are in an easy-to-follow format and the supportive images demonstrate visually what needs to be done.

Tomato Soup - Complete Children's Cookbook Review

Colorful and fun to browse through…with so many different recipes to choose from – your young cook is sure to find one they want to make.

Although Complete Children’s Cookbook is geared toward children it is also a fantastic resource for anyone who wishes to begin cooking, or baking. The step-by-step photos take the guesswork out of the written instructions and make this an easy-to-follow cookbook for all ages. Bright and colorful, the photographs included may also inspire children to try foods outside their ‘comfort zones’; to take a more active role in the kitchen at an earlier age and as a result, to become more competent adult cooks.
