Special Stitch
Cluster: cl
Insert hook into the next st, yarn over and pull up 1 loop, *yarn over and insert hook into the same st, yarn over the hook and pull up 1 loop**; rep from * to ** one more time (6 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through all loops to complete the stitch.

Adult Sizes
Adult Small: sized to fit a 21″ head size; 10 inches height
Adult Medium: sized to fit a 22″ head size; 11 inches height
Adult Large: sized to fit a 23″ head size; 12 inches height
Pattern Instructions
Brim
Using a 5 mm (H) hook
R1: Leave a long tail (about 10″). Ch 11, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 BLsc in each st across, ch 1, turn [10]
R2: 1 sc in the first st, 1 BLsc in each of the next 8 sts, 1 sc in the last st, ch 1, turn [10]
For Adult Small work:
R3-R58: rep R2 [10]
For Adult Medium work:
R3-R60: rep R2 [10]
For Adult Large work:
R3-R62: rep R2 [10]
All Adult Sizes continue:
You can seam up the band using the yarn end you left in R1 now; or after R3 of the Hat Body below (which is when I seam it).
You will now be working along the row ends (edges) of the band.

Hi J, I am going to double check this for you tonight but I am thinking that there should be 31 clusters and 31 ch-1 for the Adult Large Size. I wrote this a few years ago but for some reason I think I counted the ch-1. I will try to work one up tonight to double check. Thanks! Rhondda
I love this pattern, but need clarification on the adult size large. Are there suppose to be 62 clusters on each row?
I’ve never been a fan of slouch hats as I love my beanies too much. But I’ve changed my mind after seeing this hat! My gosh, it’s gorgeous. The yarn, the pattern–it’s classy while looking cozy warm at the same time. Thank you for the pattern and the wonderful yarn selection!
