To make this project you will need Medium Weight Yarn [4] and a 5.5 mm (I) hook. The full written pattern is available in my post below, for free.

Notes:

  • Stitch multiple: 4 (Understanding Stitch Multiples)
  • Crochet stitch pattern : modified Crossbill Stitch
  • For my Sandra Hat Pattern which uses the Crossbill Stitch, please see this post
  • The initial ch-3 does not count as stitch unless specified.
  • The sl st does not count as a stitch
  • Make your sl st tightly
  • You may customize the hat height by working the repeat as many, or as few, times as you wish. Every 5 rounds you add with the stitch pattern, will add approximately 2-inches of height to the hat.
  • If you would like to add a little bit more height to the hat, work an additional round (or two) of sc in the back loop only.
  • I use an invisible join to finish off my final round of stitches, you may substitute a sl st to join if you prefer.
