1. FLAT – making a hat in rows into a finished rectangle before seaming them into their final shape.
2. TOP-DOWN – beginning at the crown of the head and working toward the brim
3. BOTTOM-UP – beginning at the ribbed hat band and adding the body of the hat to the edge of the band. The hat can be worked in rounds, or in rows before being seamed.
