I hope this week finds you well 🙂 Today I’d like to share another easy crochet hat pattern with you, the Casey Crochet Hat Pattern. This hat pattern is available in sizes Baby to Adult large.
The Casey Hat is crocheted from the top-down, in one piece and is made with Medium Weight Yarn [4] and a 5.5 mm (I) crochet hook.

Newborn height 4.75 inches X 12 inches circumference
0-3 months height 5.25 inches X 14 inches circumference

6-12 months height 6.5 inches X 16 inches circumference
12-24 months height 6.5 inches X 17 inches circumference

You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size, and amount of yarn used for your project will also be different.

*Skip the next dc, 1 sc in the next sc, 1 dc in the sk dc**. Work from * to ** around.

- The turning ch-2 does not count as a stitch.

- Make your sl st tightly
- You may customize the Casey Crochet Hat Pattern hat height by working the repeat as many, or as few, times as you wish. Every 3 rounds you add with the stitch pattern, will add approximately 1 inch of height to the hat.
- If you would like to add just a little bit more height to the hat, work an additional round (or two) of sc in the back loop only.
- I use an invisible join to finish off my final round of stitches, you may substitute a sl st to join if you prefer.
- I use a DMR (double magic ring) to begin my projects that are worked in the round. You may substitute a magic ring (magic circle), or a chain 3 and slip to form a ring, if you prefer.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (does not count as a stitch), 2 dc in each dc around. Sl st to the first dc to join. [24 dc]
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (does not count as a stitch). *2 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc**. Work from * to ** around. Sl st to the first dc to join. [32 dc]
