I’m happy to be able to include the Carousel coffee cup cozy with my other free patterns on the Oombawka Design Crochet blog.

Notes:

  • Cozy is crocheted from the top down.
  • The initial ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
  • To hide the seam, change colors at the ch1 of each round.
  • Do not cut the yarn at each color change. Instead, carry the unused yarn inside the cozy and fasten off at the end.
  • Crochet snugly. The warmth and moisture of the coffee cup will make the cozy expand.

Finishing Instructions

  • Weave in your ends securely.

Other Suggestions

  • Other yarns that will work well: Lion Brand Cotton, Red Heart Creme de la Creme, Bernat Handicrafter, Lily Sugar n Cream
  • If possible, I recommend putting the cozy onto the cup before filling it, just to be safe.
  • Cotton cozies are microwave-safe. Do not microwave acrylic cozies, or a cozy embellished with buttons, etc.
  • Use a different color for each of the color change rounds. Use up all those scraps!
  • If you want your cozy to be a little taller, work an additional round of SC at Round 2 and Round 15.
  • Embellish your cozy with buttons, patches, or appliqués to make it unique!
