Easy to Learn Crochet Technique.

This pretty afghan design includes flowers and butterflies and it uses her popular single crochet and dropped double crochet technique. You can watch her quick video to learn this technique right here: Step-By-Step Video for Dropped DC
.
Instead of trying to juggle more than one color of yarn at a time for each round you work, this technique allows you to crochet your stitches into the remaining front loop of a stitch 2 rows prior and add a different color simply! This means you only work with a single color of yarn for each row you are working!
.
The pattern can be crocheted in a single color, or in multiple colors. Instructions are provided for both options. To learn how to easily change colors using this technique please watch this video tutorial from Carol: How to Change Colors

  1. Beautiful pattern and book to have. I haven’t tried anything quite like this. Thank you

  2. I love the intricate details on the butterflies in this book. Such talent!

  3. This is such a lovely pattern. I would love to be able to make this.

  4. I love them all so much! The Native American themed ones are so bright and colorful. It’s hard to go with just one item. I’ll pick the baby toys afghan.

  5. My favorite pattern by Shady Lanes is The Texture Tiles Afghan.

  6. I love Shady Lanes Endless heart and Kitty Cat afghans. I don’t usually purchase things online, (yes a bit paranoid from a bad experience ), but might consider buying these two.
