Butterfly Blooms Afghan Pattern Review & Giveaway

This month, Shady Lane Original Crochet Designs has given me a copy of her brand new Butterfly Blooms Afghan Pattern to review and a second copy to giveaway to one of my readers! This electronic booklet includes 5 pages of written instructions to make a lovely blanket in 2 different sizes.

Read my review for more details about this pattern, and don’t forget to enter here for a chance to win your own copy of the Butterfly Blooms Afghan Pattern.

This blanket is a beginner friendly project that is crocheted in single crochet (sc) and double crochet (dc) stitches. One special stitch is used, the 3-dc cluster (which simply put is a dc3tog all in a one stitch).

The entire pattern uses single crochet stitches (sc) worked in the back loop of a stitch, double crochet stitches (dc) worked in a remaining front loop of a stitch from 2 rows before and the 3-dc cluster which is also worked in a remaining front loop of a stitch from 2 rows before. The 3-dc cluster stitches are explained in the Special Stitches Section on page 1.

The pattern is worked on the RS (right side) only, and you will finish-off the strand of yarn you are working with at the end of every row. The project has been designed with a pocket envelope border which encloses all the yarn ends you may have inside so you have very few ends to sew in when you are finished the blanket.

By watching Carol’s helpful step-by-step video tutorial you will be able to master the dropped double crochet technique easily.
