This month for our Crochet Along, I am sharing my 2022 Bulky Herringbone Stitch Hat Pattern. This quick to make crochet hat is worked in turned, joined rounds, from the crown of the hat to the brim. You will need less than 1 hour to make this hat.
The Bulky Herringbone Stitch Hat is crocheted using the herringbone half double crochet stitches. This easy to crochet stitch is similar to a regular half double crochet, except that you first yarn over and pull up a loop, that loop is pulled up and through the first loop on your hook. Then you will yarn over and pull through the remaining loops on your hook to complete the stitch. This quick video (less than a minute) demonstrates the stitch.
To make my 2022 Bulky Herringbone Stitch Hat you will need Jumbo Weight Yarn [7] and a 15 mm (P/Q) hook.

Notes:
- Stitch multiple: 1
- The ch 1 does not count as a stitch and we do not work into it. We work into the actual first stitch of the round.
- To change the hat height (for a more slouchy hat) work the repeat rounds until you reach the height you’d like your hat to be before proceeding to the finishing instructions.
- The sl st to join is not counted as a stitch and we do not work into it. Make the joining sl st tightly.
- Remember to turn your work unless otherwise noted.
