This month for our Crochet Along, I am sharing my Between Seasons Hat Pattern. This pretty crochet hat pattern follows a simple crochet stitch pattern created with double crochets and chain spaces.
To make my Between Seasons Hat you will need Aran Weight Yarn [4] (also known as Medium Weight Yarn) and a 5 mm (H) crochet hook.

Supplies
- Yarn: King Cole Drifter Aran (check your local yarn shop here). Find it online here. (affiliate link) 3.52 oz (100 g) and 218 yds (200 m). 79% Premium Acrylic, 17% Cotton and 4% Wool. Aran Weight Yarn [4]. Machine wash warm (permanent press cycle), Tumble dry cool (low heat).
- Colors: 1 skein Blue Ridge (Shade: 4182; Dye: 623272)
- Crochet Hook: 5 mm (H) Furls Navy Odyssey (affiliate link)
- Finished Project: Adult Medium Hat: 1.5 oz (44 g) and 96 yds (88 m)
- Scissors, Tapestry Needle (yarn needle), Stitch Marker (optional)

These hats are designed to fit between mid-ear and the base of the earlobe. If you would like your hat to be longer, simply work more repeat rounds. Hats will stretch approximately 2 inches in circumference when worn.
- Newborn height 4.25 inches X 12 inches circumference
- 0-3 months height 5.4 inches X 14 inches circumference
- 3-6 months height 5.4 inches X 15 inches circumference
- 6-12 months height 6 inches X 16 inches circumference
- 12-24 months height 6.5 inches X 17 inches circumference
- Small Child (age 3-5 years) height 6.5 inches X 18 inches circumference
- Child Hat (age 6-10 years) height 7 inches X 19 inches circumference
- Teen Hat height 7.7 inches X 20 inches circumference
- Adult Hat (Medium) height 8.25 inches X 21 inches circumference
- Adult Hat (Large) height 8.8 inches X 22 inches circumference
Gauge
Approximately 13 double crochet per 4 inches and 7 rows in double crochet per 4 inches.
You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size, and amount of yarn used for your project will also be different.
