How to Crochet:

BEGINNER LEVEL LESSON 12 TRIPLE CROCHET JOIN

Tip: Unless the pattern instructions you are following indicate otherwise, crochet stitches are worked under both loops of the stitch (i.e. the front and back loops).

Please note, throughout the video I refer to the stitch as a treble crochet stitch. When I learned to crochet I used resources which referred to the stitch as the treble crochet stitch and until recently I thought it was the only name for the stitch. The more common (and many say more correct) name for this stitch is the Triple Crochet Stitch.

For the purposes of this video tutorial Treble means Triple.

Stitches Used in this Video Tutorial

Triple Crochet Stitch

Triple Stitch(tr) can also be called Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over the hook 2 times. Insert your hook into the specified stitch and yarn over the hook. Pull up 1 loop. You now have 4 loops on the hook. Yarn over the hook and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook. You now have 3 loops on your hook. Yarn over the hook and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook. You now have 2 loops on your hook. Yarn over the hook and pull through the remaining 2 loops on your hook to complete the stitch.
