Beetles, Bugs and Butterflies is the first book by Designer Lydia Tresselt that I have had the pleasure of reviewing.

This amigurumi pattern book is filled with beautiful colorful images and scientific facts about the beetles, bugs and butterflies that have been included for you to crochet.

Along with the patterns for these adorable amigurumis, there is an adorable story (featuring said amigurumis) following their magical journey from hatching from eggs, to gaining their wings. The full book is 128-pages in length.

The amigurumi patterns are clearly written and the instructions are in U.S. Crochet terms. Helpful images are included for every project. The stitch counts are included at the end of the pattern rounds, inside (parentheses).

Beetles, Bugs and Butterflies begins with A Story of Tiny Creatures and Big Dreams. This enchanting amigurumi story is found from page 6 to 53 and takes you on a magical journey about growing up, accepting change and the power of dreams.

The next section of the book is the Techniques section and it begins on page 54 and includes the following subsections:

My favorite projects are the Venus Flytrap change purse, the Ulysses Butterfly and the little Aphids. I found the story enchanting and I loved how science and amigurumi came together to explain a very important life lesson about growth and acceptance.
