For my finished crochet hat I used:

Yarn: Caron Cakes, Color: Buttercream [I used 103 g in total: 0.52 skeins = 199.2 yards (182.1 meters), 3.67 ounces]
Hook: 5.5 mm (I) Clover Amour

My finished measurements were 9  inches tall and 9 inches wide (when resting on a flat surface). The pom pom adds an additional 3 inches. The hat band stretches easily from its 18 inch circumference to 24 inches so it will fit a range of adult head sizes. I used my pom pom maker from Clover and made the Large Pom Pom.

The finished hat is super soft and the waffle stitch makes it very squishy to the touch. I love how it also provides a fun texture with shadow and light in the waffle stitches themselves.

I especially like how the hat tapers in at the top so you are not left with a lot of extra ‘hat’ at the top. It follows the shape and curve of the head.

The pattern was extremely well written and easy to follow. This is the first of Maria’s patterns I have crocheted and it was a pleasure to make this hat 🙂

Note: This will make excellent gifts for friends and family!!
