  • Small amounts of medium weight worsted yarn in yellow, blue, and pink
  • Small amount of black and white yarn for embroidery

Finished Size:

Approx 16 cm in width and 30 cm in length

Instructions:

Note: For best results whip stitch small squares together, if prefer you can single crochet squares together but that might prove challenging when adding eyes and wings.

Small Solid Granny Square:

Make 7 squares of each color (7 blue, 7 pink and 7 yellow)

Make a magic ring

Rnd 1:  CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 2 DC into ring, *CH2, work 3 DC into ring. Repeat from * 2 more times, SL ST into top of 3rd CH

Rnd 2:  CH3 (counts as 1 DC), work 1 DC into each DC, work 2 DC, 2 CH, 2 DC  into each corner. SL ST into top of 3rd CH
Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Starting at the bottom pinch the two sides together and Single Crochet together, work 1 SC into each ST making sure to work the corresponding row at the same time. When you reach the top work only into the solid granny squares – 1 SC into each ST until end, pinch the two sides together again and Single Crochet together.

Rnd 2: Work 2 SC in each ST around (12 SC). Move Maker

Rnd 4: *Work 2 SC in first ST and 1 SC in next two STS. Repeat from * around (24 SC). Move Maker

Rnd 5: Work 1 SC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 2 DC into next, ST, work 2 DC into next ST, work 1 HDC into next ST, work 1 SC into next ST, SL ST into each ST all around until the last SC of this round. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
