Inside Crochet, Issue 40 – April 2013

There are a lot of fabulous patterns and articles in this edition – my main reason for ordering the digital copy of the magazine; however, was to get my hands on Mon Petit Violon’s Baby Slipper pattern.  They are just beautiful.  You can view other items available in Mon Petit Violon’s Ravelry Pattern Store here.

Mon Petit Violon’s Designs are elegant.  They just look, as my Nana would have said, “Classy“.

This slipper pattern has recently become available in Mon Petit Violon’s store(s) – at first it was only available in the magazine, Inside Crochet.

The pattern itself is very easy to follow.  I love the stitch she used in her design – it gives the slippers a soft feel that I think babies would appreciate.  I made the larger size slipper – and I am pleased with how they turned out.
I did think perhaps I could have used a few more stitches in the straps – for the larger sized slipper – so if you are attempting the pattern you may want to keep that in mind.  I kept my gauge very relaxed for that portion of the pattern to compensate, just in case!
Here are the slippers for my niece Savannah –

For those of you looking for a lovely pair of baby booties to make – but would like a FREE pattern you may wish to take a look at this FREE Mon Petit Violon Design:
