My Sleepy-Time Friends Crochet Pillows Pattern Book Review

These adorable Sleepy-Time Friends make perfect gifts. With no hard edges to worry about and the softness a pillow insert, these cuddly little pillow pals will make nap-time and playtime fun!

All 8 designs start with the same Basic Sleepy-Time Friend Pattern. You choose which style Sleepy-Time Friend you want to make, flip to that section for the specific yarn colors you need for each body part and then follow the written instructions for the Basic Sleepy-Time Friend Pattern that begins on page 1. The pattern is easy-to-follow, includes stitch counts at the end of the rows (and rounds) and uses bold and italic fonts to help you find important notes and to help you keep your place.

Embroidery techniques are included in the Assembly instructions for the Basic Sleepy-Time Friend Pattern and include diagrams for the backstitch, satin stitch and straight stitch.

The patterns are listed as EASY Skill Level, they use medium weight yarn [4] and a 5 mm (H) crochet hook. The pillow form that is recommended is a size 10-inch round. Stitch markers are recommended to mark the Right Side of your work which will assist you with proper assembly.

The pattern notes are provided at the beginning of the written instructions and include helpful information like joining and attaching new yarns are done with a slip stitch (unless otherwise indicated), the chain 3 at the beginning of a row does count as your first dc (unless otherwise indicated) and to leave tails of yarn to allow you to assemble with the same color of yarn as the body part you are attaching.

Each of the finished Sleepy-Time Friends is 18 inches tall when assembled.

The 8 Designs Included Are:

  • Bear Friend.
  • Bunny Friend.
  • Doggy Friend.
  • Kitty Friend.
  • Lamb Friend.
  • Lion Friend.
  • Piggy Friend.
  • Tiger Friend.

Finishing instructions are provided for each of the 8 designs and include a diagram of the Friend’s face to help you. This is very helpful for placing the ears in the right spots and for sewing on the facial features in a symmetrical manner.
