Year-Round Gnomes
Every since I was a little girl I have loved Gnomes. There was a movie we watched at my Grandparents house when I was about 12 or so, called ‘Gnomes – Wedding Day’.
It was broadcast on public television and my Grandfather recorded it on his VHS machine for us. We watched it so much that the tape wore out and broke.
Loved that movie – and to this day – I have a thing for Gnomes!
This year I’ve seen a lot of patterns popping up for Gnomes – including quilting, sewing, cross-stitch and crochet. Who says gnomes are only for the holidays? These 8 charming creatures bring a touch of whimsy to your home all year.
This collection of 8 adorable gnomes is available from Annie’s Craft Store and is this month’s pick to be reviewed – which means there will be 1 copy of the eBook to be given away to one of my lucky readers too!
The Gnome crochet patterns included are considered intermediate level crochet patterns. The instructions are written out in full and they appear easy-to-follow. Each Gnome was created specifically to fit into a specific season throughout the year.

The patterns are written in US crochet terms. The stitch counts are included in italics at the end of the pattern rows.
The eBook includes 34-pages and includes full color images. Bold type and italics are used throughout to emphasize important headings and notes.
For special techniques (like adding Esme’s hair) extra photos are included in the pattern itself when you get to the spot where you are adding her hair.
My favorite Gnome is the Bixley. I love everything Christmas and Bixley would make a lovely addition to our Christmas decor.
If you love decorating throughout the year and have a special place in your heart for Gnomes too (they are so popular right now!), then you will definitely want this book for your Crochet Pattern Library.

This comment is for your career book, but I wasn’t sure where to leave it but this book also looks great. I don’t own it but it’s now on my future list. I love gnomes so much. (I also saw a cute cat book on the other page, and a few other books too that look great, and at the top of the page I just saw the axolotl pattern and I’ve got to check that out)
But for the career entry: The nurse pattern is super cute!
Hi Susan, You may want to reach out to Lindsey Dale at Winding Road Crochet. She has many free crochet Gnome patterns available and might be able to help you with a helmet for one 🙂 She does have an Angel one here: https://www.windingroadcrochet.com/crochet-angel-gnome-free-pattern/ Hope this helps, Rhondda
I too love making gnomes and my 44year old daughter loves what I make. I am currently making guardian angels for my family for Christmas but need to find a guardian angel gnome and one with an army helmet. I have a nephew and great nephew as well as my husband and brother in law that are army veterans and would love a guardian angel gnome for them. Could you help me out?
I just love gnomes and these are just the cutest.
I have made gnomes with a different pattern, but I love these gnomes! The pattern I have does not include arms and legs. I’d love to win this book!
I love the gnomes book for sure but my next favorite is the kitty couches
I am currently making a filet blanket and totally loving it. My first ever so it was fun to learn and it was on my ‘to-learn’ list. It would be great if you reviewed The Filet Afghans Book.
I have never made Gnomes (yet) but it has been on my ‘to-do’ list.
With Christmas coming I love to see your thoughts on 99 Snowflakes Vol.2
I’m glad you reviewed the Year-Round Gnome book, because I have have it on my Annie’s Crafts wishlist & I have been debating on purchasing it.
If you haven’t reivewed it yet, the next book I would like to see reviewed is Pocket Shawls.
Thank you Cat 🙂
