For our July Crochet Pattern Review and Giveaway, Carol Hegar from Shady Lane Original Crochet Designs has gifted us a copy of her Native American Dishcloths ePattern which includes 7 geometric dishcloth designs. This ePattern will be given away to one of my lucky readers!

I received a copy of this pattern to review from Shady Lane Original Crochet Designs. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

7 Geometric Dishcloth Designs an ePattern from ShadyLaneOriginalCrochet Designs

eBook: Native American Dishcloths
Designer: Carol Hegar of Shady Lane Original Crochet Designs
Current Price (*subject to change): *$8.95 USD

Native American Dishcloths ePattern

This Native American Dishcloths ePattern includes 7 gorgeous geometric dishcloth patterns.

These 7 dishcloths are crocheted with DK Weight [3], or Sport Weight [2] Cotton Yarn with a 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook.

To create your dishcloths please be sure to read the important information included on page 2. It includes the gauge information, to help you make dishcloths that are the same size as the one’s pictured.

7 Geometric Dishcloth Designs

Thunderbird | 10.5 inches square
Fiesta | 9.75 inches square
Taos| 9.5 inches square
Native Traditions | 10.75 inches square
Traditional Motifs | 9.5 inches square
Navajo | 12.25 inches point to point
Tribal Spirit | 9.5 inches square

The patterns are written in US Crochet Terms. Optional graphs are also included for those who prefer working from graphs.

This booklet includes 14 pages in total. Abbreviations used and special instructions are included on page 2.

These dishcloths are much simpler to crochet than they may look!

You make the single crochet stitches in the back-loop of the stitches and then you will work double crochet stitches in the remaining front loop of a stitch, 2 rows prior in specific places to create the design.

The effect is similar to Mosaic Knitting (or Slip Stitch Knitting) but using crochet stitches instead. This technique is like the one used to create the old-time vintage Native American Navajo Afghans.

Only simple stitches are used to make these dishcloths, so I feel a determined beginner would be able to master these patterns. You will only need to understand where to find the front loops and back loops of your stitches, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet and slip stitches.

Carol has prepared a video to help you master the technique too. Watch the video here.

The Native American Dishcloths ePattern is available for purchase from Shady Lane Original Crochet Designs. The current price (which is subject to change) at the time of this post being written is $8.95 USD.

If you would like to get your own copy today, you can use this coupon to receive 15% off: OOMB and the coupon can be used on any of the patterns on her site.
