I love floral elements in crochet, probably because I love flowers. Each of these pretty blankets is unique in its design, some being more lightweight and lacy and some more suitable to colder weather.
My 2 favorite designs in this book are:
- Filet Floral
- Autumn Fields
The 6 projects included in Grannies in Bloom are very different from one another. They each feature a lovely floral design and are completed by assembling motifs together into the finished blanket form. Four of the projects use simple whipstitches to seam the squares together, while two projects can be assembled with the JAY-Go method. Grannies in Bloom includes patterns for 6 pretty, feminine, floral afghans suitable for a variety of seasons.

Thank you for your review. The cover afghan is really pretty. I don’t much care for the granny but it’s so pretty I just might change my mind now.
I’m drawn to anything with flowers too. All of the afghans in “Grannies in Bloom” are so pretty and they’re great on the go projects. I’d love to give them a try. Thanks for the review.
I would love to make the Filet Floral.
such pretty flowers, i love the whole garden!
Grannies in Bloom is definitely on my must have list. The designs are gorgeous.
I just started crocheting this year. After years as a kid trying to pick up the technique by my mom and both grandmothers, I never could get the hang of it. It took me learning on my own by watching videos, reading books and practicing…A LOT.
This book actually brought a smile to my face. My great aunt made an afghan using granny squares and pink roses. In a way, one of the patterns is similar to the blanket she made. I wish I had that blanket back today, because it was huge and would easily fit on my bed. My goal is to eventually get proficient and fast enough to create a blanket just like she made.
How beautiful! I want to make one of these for my mom 🙂
I’m a granny square seeker! I love ALL granny squares. Grannies in Bloom has a nice variety without overwhelming you with which one to pick and a great way to practice stitches! I want this book!
I have always loved the floral square afghans. Also, I really like the requirements for the October giveaway. It has allowed me to add new websites to my crochet resources and more designers to look to for a new project.
I love the Granny Squares, I’ve been using them for years and continue to save the different square patterns to use in the future….Thank you for sharing these
Lovely!
Great Afgans
I love the Flower Garden Throws, they are so different and the book explains how to make them so well.
JAYGO is the only way to do grannies! Cute book.
Thank you so much Carol 🙂 I’m happy the tutorials are helpful! Have a lovely week, Rhondda
