2021 Roll With It Scarf Crochet Pattern

Supplies

• Yarn: Red Heart Roll With it Tweed. 150 g (5.29 oz) and 311 yds (285 m). 100% Cotton. Medium Weight Yarn [4]. Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Do not iron. Do no dryclean.
• Colors: 1 skein in Crayons ITEM# E888-9236
• Hook: 6 mm (J). Furls Candy Shop Green Apple
• Finished Project Yardage: Scarf: 142 g (5 oz) and 280 yds (257 m).
• Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker

Difficulty Level

Easy

Finished Size

Scarf width approximately 6.5 inches X 84 inches length

Gauge

Approximately 6 rows dc per 4 inches and 10 dc per 4 inches

You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size, and amount of yarn used for your project will also be different.

Abbreviations

US Terminology used

ch – chain

ch2sp – chain two space

dc – double crochet

R – row

rem – remaining

rep – repeat

sc – single crochet

sk – skip

st/sts – stitch/stitches

* to **– Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the number of times indicated. This repeat will contain multiple instructions.

[] – at the end of the row – the total number of stitches

() – important notes AND sets of stitches to be worked within one stitch, or space

Multiple of 10 + 3 (Understanding Stitch Multiples)

When I work into the foundation chain, I prefer working into the back bar (back bump) of the chain. You can work under the back loop only if you prefer.

The turning ch-1 does not count as a stitch. 

You may customize the length of the Roll With it Scarf by working the repeat of R2 as many, or as few, times as you wish.

2021 Roll With It Scarf Crochet Pattern

The Roll With It Scarf is crocheted lengthwise, back-and-forth in rows.

Using your 6 mm (J) hook (or size required for gauge) and leaving an 8-10 inch yarn tail:

R1: Ch 273, sk the first 3 chs (sk 3 chs count as 1 dc). 1 dc in each of the next 3 chs. *Sk the next 2 chs, 1 dc in each of the next 4 chs, ch 2, 1 dc in each of the next 4 chs**. Work from * to ** across to the last 6 chs. Sk the next 2 chs, 1 dc in each of the next 3 chs, 2 dc in the last ch. Turn.  [214 dc, 26 ch2sp]

R2-R9: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc). 1 dc in the first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc. *Sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc, (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in the next ch2sp, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc. Work from * to ** across to the last 6 dc. Sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc, 2 dc in the last dc. Turn. [214 dc, 26 ch2sp]

Finishing Instructions

Finish off and weave in ends.
