Meet the Dyer
A bit about Charity and Brine Dyeworks:
This whole yarn dyeing thing started because I couldn’t find the “right” colorways to knit a particular shawl. Not one to back down once I have my heart something, I signed up for a yarn dyeing class at my LYS, thinking “oh, I’ll do this, and then I’ll dye what I need, and that’ll be that”… 48 hours later, I had watched hours of dyeing videos on YouTube, and ordered a bunch of bare skeins and dye powders. The rest is history. I launched Brine Dyeworks in April of 2020, and have been thrilled to watch my business grow over the past year, pandemic and all!
I used to be a chef, so my inspirations draw heavily from food. I love tonals and semi-solids, and gravitate towards deep, saturated jewel tones, and dark, moody colorways. I love knitting socks, and doing stranded colorwork, and I think both of these craft preferences influence my colorways and the bases I stock in my shop.
