2021 Back to Basics Scarf Pattern
The 2021 Back to Basics Scarf is my November Scarf of the Month Crochet Along Pattern. This traditional ribbed scarf is simple to crochet and a great gender neutral project. You will need Medium Weight Yarn [4] and a 5.5 mm (I) hook.
[disclaimer] I received the yarn for this pattern from Yarnspirations.[/disclaimer]
The yarn I used for this month’s scarf and hat projects was sent to me by Yarnspirations. For this month’s projects I selected one of my favorite kinds of Red Heart Yarn. Roll with it Tweed Yarn is beautifully soft and created by combining separately dyed 3-ply yarn strands of contrasting colors together to give your finished projects a fun tweedy effect.
Part of the reason I love this yarn so much is because when you work with it, the yarn feels fuller (more dense) than other yarns. It seems to have more squish factor right from the get-go. Along with its tactile appeal, the stitches hold their shape and definition well.
The yarn was easy to work with as a center-pull ball and I did not find any tangles as I worked, making it very easy to keep my gauge consistent.
Roll With it Tweed is a 100% Acrylic yarn. Each skein contains 150 g (5.29 oz) and 311 yds (285 m).
I chose to use Stormy Blues (E888-9884) for an more calm and neutral project. Roll With It Tweed is available in 15 different colors, including bright contemporary tones and soft neutrals. See the full selection here.

When I work into the foundation chain, I prefer working into the back bar (back bump) of the chain. You can work under the back loop only if you prefer.
You may customize the length by working the repeat of R2 as many, or as few, times as you wish.
