Four years… Oombawka Design is 4 years old today!
I honestly feel like this past year has just sped by – both personally and professionally for me. With my young children growing and changing so much everyday and me trying to balance my family, my home, my blog and my designing – my life has turned into a whirlwind of schedules and deadlines. Trying to maintain a balance between each is a challenge for me and some days I succeed – but some days I fail miserably – just like every other human being out there 😉 It is a bit of a roller coaster this journey we call life. I am happy to be able to spend some of it with you – doing something we all love to do – crocheting!
I hope you are enjoying my Posts, my Charity Spotlight Series, my Free Crochet Patterns, Photo Tutorials and those occasional Video Tutorials I’m still trying to perfect. I will one day get it right I promise! I appreciate the time you each take to visit my site and to leave me comments and feedback. Thank you for taking the time – it really means a lot to me 🙂
I’d also like to thank you for sharing my website and the links to my free patterns online with your friends and family – each of those shares helps Oombawka Design grow its reader base and encourages me to continue to design more free patterns for you to enjoy.
If you are new to Oombawka Design, or if you’d like to help our site grow and reach new readers and crocheters, here’s what you can do to help:
and if you have time to share a link on Facebook with your friends, or PIN a free pattern or post to your Crochet Board on Pinterest, each one of these actions actually help the overall health of the website. Search Engines (like Google) start to find the site more easily the more it is shared online – this helps increase the ranking of the site and increases the overall traffic (visitors) we see each day. I thank you for taking a moment to do these things when you have time 🙂 It makes such a big difference.
I took some time earlier this year to rewrite my About Me Post. If you are interested in reading more about me – here’s the link: About Me
In 2016 I had a few patterns published in a real book (yeah!) and you can read more about it here: Bold Baby Crochet
You can see all of the free patterns currently available on my site (more than 300!!) right here: Free Crochet Patterns
I’d like to Celebrate my Blog Anniversary with you again this year by hosting 4 Weeks of Giveaways for you to enjoy!
Let’s Celebrate Oombawka Design’s 4th Blog Anniversary
With 4 Weeks of Giveaways!
Our first giveaway, for Week 1, is sponsored by Red Heart Yarns. As many of you know I am a Joy Creator with Red Heart Yarns and they often send me samples of their newest yarns to try out and to share with my readers. I recently tried their new Red Heart Super Saver Stripes yarn and wrote 2 free crochet patterns you can crochet with it. You can read my full yarn review here and you can get copies of my free patterns here: Tropical Breeze Wrap and Double Crossed Hat.
Red Heart Yarns has generously sponsored our Week 1 Giveaway and one lucky reader will receive 6 skeins of Super Saver Stripes Yarn in 2 colorways. I know you will love this yarn and I’m super happy to be able to offer it as our first giveaway prize this month!
Super Saver Yarn is Proudly Made in the U.S.A. and Red Heart has a great post on their site right now sharing images of the yarn spinning and manufacturing process in Albany, Georgia. I love seeing the “then and now” images of the process in 1947 vs today. I am a genealogy buff so this type of thing is always interesting to me 🙂 You can take a look at all the photos in the post yourself right HERE:
Here’s how you can enter our Week 1 Giveaway:
