This month, Dedri from Look at What I Made, would like to introduce us to the Smile of Joy Charity.
Smile of Joy
Smile of Joy is a charity that aims to give each HIV-infected and/or affected child in South Africa the foundation for total oral health. On top of this, they also host Christmas parties for the children in Pomfret (a village on the border of Botswana) and Onverwacht (East of Cullinan). These children have nothing, so the gifts they receive (which range from repaired toys and clothes to re-usable sanitary products and knit and crochet items) are the highlight of their year.
My grandmother knits items for the Smile of Joy Christmas parties. At the moment she is knitting Barbie dresses, but she recently made 75 beanies as well. My aunt washes and repairs broken toys and torn clothing.
How Can You Help?
