It is my turn to share a free Holiday Crochet Pattern! I hope you like it – you can easily omit the embellishment for a pretty Coffee Cup Cozy or use the embellishment for a different project! Have fun!
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn) in 2 colours (green and cream used in sample)
Hook: 5.0 mm (H)
Gauge is not imperative for this project just try to make your cozy reach the approximate finished size below (or to fit the circumference of your preferred cup!)

beg – begin
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
hdc – half double crochet
MR – magic ring / adjustable ring
R – row/round
rem – remaining
rep – repeat
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch

* – Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the number of times indicated. This repeat will contain of multiple instructions.

- Chain stitches do not count as stitches unless specified in the instructions
- Do not sl st to join unless specified in the written instructions
Festive Cup Cozy
R1: In Green, ch 33, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sc in each back bump (see helpful tutorials) across, changing colour to cream on the last yarn over of the last st. 
R2: Ch 1, turn, sk the first st, *2 sc in the next st, sk the next st**; repeat across to the last st. Work 2 sc in the last st; changing color to green on last yarn over of the last st. 
R3: Rep R2; changing to cream on the last yarn over 
R4: Rep R2; do not change colour 
R5: Rep R2; do not change colour 
R6: Rep R2; changing to green on last yarn over 
R7: rep R2; changing to cream on last yarn over 
R8: rep R2; changing to green on last yarn over, finish off and weave in ends 
Whip stitch the side two edges closed to form a tube and your cozy is complete!

Picot Stitch: chain 2, work 1 sl st into the second ch from the hook
Special Note: Count the ch 1 in R1 as a stitch and work into it in R2.
Make: 2, or 3 (depending on how you want yours to look!)
R1: Ch 9; sk 1 ch, work 2 sc in next ch, 1 hdc in the next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 tr in the next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 hdc in the next ch, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) in the end ch, working back up along the other side of the ch row work 1 hdc in the next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 tr in the next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 hdc in the next ch, 1 sc in the next ch  (Note: remember you count the ch 1 as a stitch!)
R2: 1 sl st in the first st, 1 sl st in the next st, 1 picot st (see special stitch above). *Work 1 sl st in each of the next 3 sts, work 1 picot st.** Rep from * to ** one more time. Work 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, work 1 picot st. Work 1 sl st in each of the next 2 sts, work 1 picot st. Rep from * to ** 2 more times. Sl st to the intial sl st to finish off. Weave in ends.
R1: In a MR ch 1 and work 5 sc. Sl st to ch 1 to join and finish off with an invisible join and weave in ends.
