Little Flower Brooch

I found this pattern on Ravelry and since I am in a brooch-making mood lately, I picked this for today’s post.
I love the delicateness of this brooch. It has a very soft and feminine look.
When I hooked up the pattern I used a 2.25 mm hook and some buttons from my Nana’s button tin – I guess I could safely call those vintage 😉
For the first one I hooked up I used Bernat Cotton Thread in white (10) and the second one I hooked up I used Aunt Lydia’s Fashion 3 (lilac), also from my stash. I already had some pinbacks in my ‘jewellery’ making stash so I was ready to proceed.
This pattern is simple. The brooch took less than 30-minutes to complete, from start to finish.
I prefer the look using the Aunt Lydia’s Fashion 3 – but I am also more comfortable using that thread as it is the one I used when designing the Simplicity Bracelet pattern. I think if I were to use the 10-thread again I would try to use a smaller (yikes!!) hook –
Here are my results:
I’m very new to ‘thread crochet’ so I am pleased with my first attempts! This pattern is a quick and easy one to use and practise manipulating thread and a small hook – they are approximately 1.5″ across in size.
