10 Free Crochet Rug Patterns

Crochet rug patterns are a fantastic and simple way to elevate your living space and to add a bit of color! They can also be a great way to use up some of your stashed yarn!

I have included links to 10 free crochet rug patterns below. Some of these use strands of yarn held together and some work with a single strand only. I have tried to provide the details for the pattern (yarn and hook) in the description beside each one to help you choose the crochet rug pattern that is right for you.

My friend Dedri (Look at What I Made) makes some very lovely crocheted rugs with her leftover yarn scraps. She has written a helpful post to guide you on making your own Round Rag Rug using single crochet, half double crochet or double crochet stitches. You can read her post here: Learn How to Crochet A Round Rag Rug

  1. Followed the video instructions and the carpet turned out beautifully. I used a soft bulky yarn because I was unable to find the cotton air yarn at a reasonable price. My carpet will look nice in a bedroom but I think I would have preferred to use a cotton yarn – I’ll have to keep looking to find something reasonably priced. I will definitely make this carpet again! Thank you for the great step by step video!
