These 10 By the Sea Crochet Dishcloths will make a lovely addition to your cottage, or kitchen decor. The patterns feature animals and elements that you can find in and around the seaside. Use the colors recommended in the patterns, or choose your own calm and relaxing colors to make these 8.25 inches square dishcloths.

These pretty and colorful dishcloths are crocheted with DK Weight [3] Cotton Yarn and a 4 mm (G) crochet hook. Each design uses simple stitches and colorwork.
The patterns recommend carrying your unused yarn on the wrong side of the project and to bring it up to and across to the next row and stitch where it will be used.
Each pattern includes written instructions in US Crochet Terms for the first few rows of the project and then you are referred to the chart for the remainder of the project. The border instructions are available as written instructions only.
These patterns are written in U.S. crochet terms. The Metric Conversion Chart is on page 22 and the Stitch Guide is included on page 23. Only chains (ch) and single crochet stitches (sc) were used to create these dishcloths.
My favorite By the Sea Dishcloth Pattern is:
Centered Turtle Dishcloth
You can see more of the projects here. Which one is your favorite?
Being newish to crochet colorwork I would have liked to see the reverse of one of the dishcloths to see how the ‘wrong side’ of a completed dishcloth was supposed to look. Or to have a video tutorial available to demonstrate how to carry the unused yarn properly.
If you are comfortable working from color charts and carrying your unused yarn colors on the reverse side (wrong side) of your project, these simple and nature inspired dishcloths will be easy to crochet! I love the variety of sea animals and this themed collection of patterns.
